The Detroit Lions have been generating a lot of hype during the preseason, both inside and outside of their Allen Park practice facility. Third-year receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown has noticed the excitement amongst fans when he leaves the building. "Definitely when you leave the facility, whether you're at the grocery store, going out to restaurants, whatever, and a fan sees you, they’re super excited," he told the NFL Network's Andrew Siciliano and Steve Wyche. St. Brown is a big part of the hype surrounding the Lions' upcoming season and he is putting in the work to live up to his fan's expectations. With mounting anticipation for the upcoming season, the Lions have now secured their position as the favored team to clinch the NFC North division title.

St. Brown has been a key player for the Lions' offense, helping them finish fifth in scoring in the previous season with 26.6 points per game. He has amassed impressive stats in his first two seasons in the league, recording at least 90 receptions, 900 yards, and five receiving touchdowns. In 2022, he had a breakout year with over 100 catches and 1,000-plus receiving yards, earning him a trip to the Pro Bowl.

St. Brown attributes the team's offensive success to their great coaches and players, including offensive coordinator Ben Johnson. "You know, if we execute, like he (Johnson) tells us, we’re bound to succeed on Sunday. So, just the whole operation around us, we’re surrounded by great people, great players, great coaches. And, you know, we all want to be the best."

While the Lions' offense is already in a good state, there has been speculation about the team's interest in three-time All-Pro receiver DeAndre Hopkins, who was recently released by the Arizona Cardinals. St. Brown acknowledges Hopkins' potential to help any team, but believes the Lions have a strong group of players already. "Adding a guy like that, he’s going to help any team," St. Brown said.

While Hopkins future is still TBD, he could be just what the Lions' need to become a dominant force in the NFC.

The Lions' preseason hype is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the team. From the looks of it, St. Brown and his strong Lions offense are ready to take on the 2023 season and continue to improve their game.
